This bachelor thesis entitled „Use of indigenous livestock breeds in agro-tourism“ deals in the first part with the characteristics and histoty of these breeds. Most of these breeds are included in the program for the protection of the gene pool od indigenous. For each breed there is a short assessment of the positives and negatives of the breeding. It is followed by part with selection of several agro-tourism enerprises in the Czech Republic that breed presented. Futhermore, the current state of indigenous livestock breeds is assessed and their possible future development is proposed. Finally, a SWOT analysis is presented from the perspective of rural tourism in the Czech Republic.

Resume The bachelor work deals with the difficulty of gene sources of decorative wood species in Czech Republic and abroad. We tried to gain information about the current state of decorative wood species in Czech Republic and concerning research institutions that are involved in the process of gene pool preservation, especially using the forms ex situ, in situ, on farm, in vitro. The Crop Research Institute in Prague, Ruzyně is the main research institution for plant production and is also covering all other research centres, organizations and institutions in Czech Republic. We focused on National Program for genetic sources of agricultural plants and its coordination. It was vital to introduce information connected to genetic sources of decorative wood species. The main aim of our bachelor work was oriented to history and present of genetic sources of decorative wood species and summing-up of complex information about the collection state in Czech Republic an abroad.

Methodology to identify missing genetic resources in culture collections, strategy to fill the gaps

The methodology was created under the National programme on conservation of microbial genetic resources of economical imortance. Its preparation was planned in the beginning of a current period of solving the National programme (2018-2022). The methodology describe procedures for the evaluation of specialization of individual collections from the point of view variability of genetic resources held on the collections. The goal of the methodology is to improve the work of microbial collections for the sustainable conservation of microbial genetic resources.

On farm conservation of obsolete cultivars and landraces methodology

This methodology defines basic terminology connected to on-farm conservation, presents links to international agreements and legal documents and describes its participants. There are presented possible practices of conservation based on experience in Europe, especially ECPGR, FAO and international projects focused on this topic. It proposes the system of on-farm conservation in the conditions of the Czech Republic as well as possibilities of its integration to international/European networks.

Aktuální stav genových rezerv v České republice

Genetic resources are very important part of agriculture because it preserves so called primitive genes of original breeds which was breeded in our area in the past. Nowadays are these breeds threatened and is therefore very important to protect and preserve them. As in these times the animals are grading for the biggest possible efficiency they don't have these primitive genes and they can be predisposed to changes of environment and diseases. The goal of this thesis is describe what genetic resources are, what is the importance for society and agriculture, define individual breeds of animals classified as genetic resource of the Czech republic and make a list of current situation in number states. Genetic resources are closely related to organic agriculture and that's why I decide to describe it and clarify principles of animal breeding in organic agriculture.

Biopirátství v regionu Latinská Amerika

The thesis provides an insight into the issue of biopiracy in Latin America. The phenomenon of biopiracy is mostly connected with the forests in Brazil and Ecuador, which are concerned in the thesis. The first part of the thesis describes the two countries in terms of biodiversity and forest occurrence, as well as in terms of genetic resources and their exploitation. The thesis provides a comparative analysis of the two countries based on defined criteria. The aim of the comparative analysis is to determine which of the two countries is fighting against biopiracy more effectively. As a result of the comparative analysis the last part of the thesis includes some suggestions that can improve the current situation.
